The wife and I have officially decided to move to Cheyenne.
Here are a few reasons why:
no state income tax
no grocery tax
cheaper gas
they respect firearms rights
I already have a job there
I know I'm gonna catch a lot of grief about running away, blah blah blah. But I think it will be better for me and the wife.
I really like Cheyenne and Wyoming in general I'm sure you won't miss the traffic here either. Good luck!
I grew up in Cheyenne. Most of my family is there. If I could get work I would think about going back.
I don't see why anyone would give you grief. You've got very valid reasons for moving there, and I hope it goes smoothly. I've never been to Cheyenne, but I've heard good things about it.
You wo't be too far from Colorado, either! Win-win!
Only thing I'm not crazy about Cheyenne is the winds...

After growing up all across the US, I've been in Wyoming the last 8 years or so of my life. I really like it up here, besides the wind and somewhat cold winters. Lived there for a year and work there almost every day. We got tired of the wind and lack of variety from a shopping/bar/restaurant perspective. Good luck with the move.
The bar scene doesn't interest me as I don't drink much, shopping consists of necessary items (wife hates shopping), and so far the restaurants are satisfactory. I will miss Nordy's being close though.

I have looked at half a dozen places up there but haven't quite found the right one as far as being able to run the biz out of.

Yeah I talked to a realtor. He said houses are selling very fast. Even good rentals are hard to find. We got very lucky.
