and I thought we were screwed...
But, I suppose it's only a matter of time before this is proposed here.
There is a poll on that link as well. Be sure to vote.
right now 97% of the votes say Governor Brown should NOT sign those bills. (16710 votes total)
Let the ammo hoarding begin!
Want a glimpse into the future of Colorado? Look at CA... I imagine right now they're about 10 years ahead, +/- 2 years, on the restriction of freedom. Fingers crossed that the Independence Institute lawsuit pushes that number back. Oh yeah, F**k Commiefornia! Right now there isn't a wage you could pay me to live there.
outlawing semiautomatics that use detachable magazines ...they thought they had problems before, fuck that state.
just read that...really fuck that state.Quote:
The Senate also OK'd a bill that would outlaw the sale, purchase and manufacture in California of semiautomatic rifles that can accommodate detachable magazines. The measure, SB 374 by Steinberg, also would require those who own such weapons to register them with the state.
Oh hell no. At this rate ill never get enough stockpiled to where Id be comfortable going shooting.
I like how they lumped them all together. Because Gay Boy Scout Leaders and Gun Control are definitely related.
Well on the plus side there will be less ammo shipped to CA, as no one will be buying it there. Though I thought gun registration was illegal.
Makes me think of that PD who had to borrow ammo from their citizens. If ammo companies stopped shipping to CA, would the PD try to turn to locals and have to go through BG check themselves?
Someone may have posted it already, but they got the go ahead to enforce micro-stamping as well.
I know some quality people from CA and there are some beautiful parts of that state. But in whole, it just needs to go away.
I think CA needs to be broken in to two states. The Northern part is a completely different place.
These ban's are part of an ever widening gap between gun owners and the anti's.
WHAT WE are seeing in CO, NY, CT AND CA all all part of a major gun ban broken up in to smaller parts. IF the whole package was proposed in 1 bill the uproar would [ hopefully] be deafening. However through careful planning and enacting the bill broken down through out the US no one outside that state really pays attention.
Now Come September, if not before, Obama & Biden will start making public and media PSA's.
Their mantra will be. In CO they passed, sensible magazine and Back Ground check laws. In CT they banned what we as a country have been trying to ban since the sunset of the Crime Bill. In CA they passed sensible restrictions that prevents mass murders from obtaining the STOCKPILES of AMMO like James Holmes had in CO.
Since states individually have done the right thing, isn't it time we enact these laws as a nation ? ? ?
JUST WAIT.
i hope the ammo manufacturers do indeed stop shipping to the communist republick of kalifornia...When their PD's and sheriff's ain't got ammo, we'll see how good their legislators brilliant ideas are...I and I do think that all that bs is inbound to CO, just more shit for the pile that we'll have to deal with here.
They also expanded the confiscation program, adding "alcoholism and drug addiction" to the list of non firearm owner confiscation list.
Jim is totally right.
So wait... now you can't even buy an M1A in CA? Or perhaps even a garand? They basically criminalized most rifles, including the Ruger 10/22?
The sad thing is, all of the politicians who supported this BS really have nothing to fear in the next election, that's how f'ing stupid the majority of the voters in CA are.
I was referring to States' rights vs Fed's rights.
Though I personally believe gun registration violates the 2nd Amendment, that has not, to my knowledge, been ruled out yet. NFA anyone?

my fav part of the article
"
Other bills approved in one house Wednesday would:
• Allow those who may be in the country illegally to obtain a California driver's license if they can provide documents to establish their identity and residency in the state."
Oh man! I don't ever want to go back. They can't stop the drugs and illegals from crossing the southern border, what makes them think that they can stop shipments of ammo from crossing. Oh wait, it's about destroying the freedom of the individual, not punishing the criminal. At least until "they" can call everyone a criminal.
Colorado is well on its way to becoming Kolofornia. The slugs down under the gold dome are trying to further bankrupt the state with a $1,000,000,000 tax increase on the state of Colorado. It's for children.
Another step on the path...

List of bills getting tossed around in Kalifornia.
http://monderno.com/news/california-gun-control-update/
I am pretty sure some of these have already been deemed unconstitutional i.e. having to lock your gun up at all times but that does not stop them.
Merged & updated original title to be more descriptive.
What, Lefty State North, and Lefty State South? The climate/scenery/Etc. may vary greatly between Eureka and Anza but the mindset is not nearly as different as some would like to think. Some of the most hopeless-case liberals I know are lifelong Orange County residents and some of the more gun loving folks I've ever met reside in San Francisco & San Jose. Overall, CA is permanently going to be a state beholden to those who depend on handouts and no amount of effort on the part of Calguns, the NRA, or any other organization will ever rescue the 2A rights of those that reside in that state.
Unfortunately, once politicians start pandering to the have-nots in order to further their own personal agenda, and can rely handily on the votes thereof, there's really no stopping them. The party who currently tends to infringe gun rights is the same party promising free stuff - that does not bode well for those who enjoy the shooting sports.
CA gun laws are undeniably bad, but as we witnessed here in CO recently, we are far from being immune to similar behavior by the politicians in CO.
Wake up! Since the last election, Kolorado is now another bastion of leftist lunatics. We will sooon be inundated with the SAME B.S. laws as Kalifornia, just give it time, nobody will do anything about it, we will just sit here and follow their unconstituional laws. Hell most of you have already been trying to figure out how to follow the gun laws already, and it ain't even July yet! As long as everyone has their beer and sports it makes no difference what crap the Govt. shovels to us, nobody will get off their loungers to protest, or march, or complain. A bunch of damn sheep, we get what we deserve. Business as usual
Reading through that list starts to look like each CA politician is recommending yet another gun control bill in hopes of furthering their political talking points for their next election. It's sad, but I bet nearly all of those will become law out there and then become a blueprint for other states to follow.
