I had to get a second job(money's tight didn't want welfare) it involves standing on my feet for the entire 8 hour shift it was the suck because my shoes are just not padded well enough for that......what are the most comfortable shoes I can get??? They don't have to be any particular style just comfortable for standing around for hours on end

Most comfortable duty boots I've ever had, and I walk a lot on hard concrete surfaces for 8 hours. I believe they make other style boots and shoes with the same sole, so there may be other "style" options. They sell these boots at sportsmans and gander.

Dansko and New Balance have a good reputation for shoes you can stand in all day.

I put Sole insoles in ALL my work shoes and most of my everyday footware. On the feet 8-10 hours a day at least four days a week.
Dr. Martins work for me. Both pair of Keens blew out within a year. The sales lady didn't believe me. Merrill cross trainers hold up well. Same with Salomon. Eccos never fit me right.
I'm on my feet all day long too. Standing on concrete or metal grating. Dr. Martens have treated me the best. Your mileage may vary.

On a serious note get yourself a pair of http://archmolds.com/ they're pricey for insoles but work wonders. You heat them in the oven, put em in the shoes then put the shoes on and they mold to your feet.
plus one for insoles. I went Goodfeet. Way overpriced but it did get my feet back to normal. I might try the archmolds.

What type of shoes? Walking? Black, white or any other dress code? Dress? Boots? I have many suggestions but we need that information to work from.
Another +1 to insoles (I think I just had some Dr Scholes, don't remember the exact type). When I was a cell phone salesman I had to stand all day (on hard concrete at that, it was in a Sam's Club), and the insoles helped 5000%. My lower back pain went away (or, at least lessened considerably).
Before you shell out major dollars, have you looked at getting orthotics? The ain't cheap but well worth the investment. After that new balance, OR (go ahead and laugh) the same shoes nurses were.
This is Colorado, we don't shoes[Coffee] I like New Balance.
I've got three of four pair of New Balance shoes for walking around but the OP still hasn't said what his requirements are. OP, if you can wear NB shoes... do.Quote:

Cofi, concrete standing can really do a number to your feet. In addition to your shoes (make sure they provide arch support as well as cushioning for your heels), make sure you wear some high quality socks. I've seen socks at Sam's that have extra cushioning at your heels and the pads of your feet. I think they were hunting socks- nice and thick and they snug your feet.
When I worked at a place that had a concrete floor, I wore my combat boots. Altimas.
Man, I miss those boots.
I wear a pair of broken ass Vans with gel inserts to work, works for me. Skate shoes to me seem to be most comfortable. It could be you're getting conditioned to standing for longer periods of time. Mine were sore for just a few days when I returned to work from a long break.
Nike Flex. If you could wrap your feet in a pillowy cloud and walk on the heavens I'd imagine it would feel just like your feet do when wearing a pair of Nike Flex.
