Same question here, only one I have heard of is the one with signs all over to say no on. The rest didn't yield much in the way of good data on a few searches.

Its my policy to always vote "No" on every judicial retention ballot. Because the Judicial Commission is such a sack of hammers.

There are good Judges, Old Judges, Bad Judges. Easier to just vote out. Bad ones will go away typically and good ones will survive the vote.

- Unconstitutionally re-defining Taxes as Fees (Colorado Car Tax, Ritter Gun Tax)
- Unconstitutional expansion of eminent domain property seizures (Telluride Land Grab)
- Unconstitutional usurpation of legislative power (judicial redistricting, school funding)

I generally vote NO to retain any judge. Jefferson County Court judge Thomas Vance issued a ruling favorable toward an illegal alien a couple years back so I always vote NO for him, somehow he keeps the job.
My basic policy for judges is vote against the incumbent.
I came here looking for help on deciding judges, thanks for that. But I still have 8 more judges to choose on. I would hate to vote out a sensible judge because I had No Effing Idea what I was doing.Quote:

Well, I wanted to get my ballot finished up tonight, and the judge thing was holding me up. I didn't read extensively on each one for my district, but at least that link had a little bit of guidance according to *average rating* for *each judge, compared to the score of all judges* based on lawyers, jurors and non-juror opinions.
I won't go into who I retained or not, but on short notice, it was helpful to me in making my decisions.

Judge Charles M Pratt sounds like one of the few keepers. Basically told some weed dealers who had a conflict to pound sand and get out of his court. Cited the fact that it is against fed law to sell weed. Seems he is the only person that cares that it is against fed law.

I voted to keep some of them in based on the evaluations linked at Clear the Bench Colorado (which I linked above). Judges can't help who appoints them and even the liberal politicos occasionally put some decent people in place.
I found it interesting one of the two Colorado SC justices up for retention had a fairly positive evaluation in supporting the Constitution, including voting to keep Ortiz in Pueblo from loading the dice in the recall elections last year.
Somehow, I don't think the Judicial Review Panel meant for me to use their evaluations as I did. There were a few local judges who seemed to piss off the lawyers but got favorable reviews from non-lawyer observers/trial participants so I was inclined to keep them out of pure orneriness.
