Ok. I'll be the guy.
Repost.
Oops. Didn't see the big data crash. Apparently not a repost. My bad.
Technically, it is a repost, but realistically, it might be the new original post.
This is amusing on several levels... consider yourselves lucky if you didn't have a gay PA that thought you needed a prostrate exam when you were like 35... bastard.
The point is, the only thing TSA has on other professions is volume.
I posted the first one this morning.
I wonder how many TSA search agents do the same thing to females they find attractive.
Channel 4 has an update to the original story I posted this morning
http://denver.cbslocal.com/2015/04/1...video-reports/
Hey!! What do you know, the TSA doesn't want us peons to see the video.Quote:
The Transportation Security Administration and City of Denver on Tuesday refused to release videotape of a TSA screener groping a male passenger for the screener’s sexual gratification and the agencies also refused to release any additional reports on a scandal first uncovered by CBS4.
Well maybe it is because the video is court property now while they pursue the case...or maybe the TSA bigwigs are just getting some pointers.
I'd be okay with a straight dude grabbing my crotch...
My response where this to happen to me...
Getting pretty Froggy there mister... ever seen a grown man naked.
Usually shuts them down pretty quickly
Interesting shit all around. If this was Nazi Germany, fags would be in a concentration camp. Or in Katboxistan they would be stoned to death or whatever they do to fags there. So, now we have a gay Nazi gubment agent groping travelers for the fun of it. HMMMMMM. On top of that, we are hard working, law abiding, tax paying, gun owning, arms bearing Americans that are keeping these people OUT OF CONCENTRATION CAMPS. Only thing worse is that these TSA Nazis are being paid from hard working law abiding tax paying Americans tax money. Somethin' jus' ain't right.....
I thought only the guards had cigarettes (fags) in the concentration camps ...
Lawdy. Lawdy... I apologize for not being PC..... I guess politeness will change this country for the better.....
I know there are a lot of comedians on this site. Which is good. All the late night TV hosts make jokes day in and day out about all the crap that goes on all over America. Jokes about corruption, jokes about power grabbing, jokes about cop bashing, jokes about VA corruption, anyone hear the one about the VA center being built.... Yuck it up,,,, until all the sheeple are in their pens not knowing what they are laughing about.......
Yup, these clowns need to armed.
excuse me sir plesae follow capt stiffy into the next room for some fun, i mean for an enhanced screening,
The perps have been fired but why haven't they been arrested?
Is this another example of selective law enforcement, more evidence that government officials are treated with more leniency under the law?
Immunity. TSA has to grab junk all day long (it's their mission statement and let's be honest, they really like it). So a law would have to be written to say it's not the act that is illegal, but the intent.
So how do you prove intent? In this case, it's a slam dunk from the statement I've read. But laws aren't written for one-offs and it wouldn't apply in this case anyway (after the fact). Write a law that says unnecessary screening is a crime and might scare screeners from looking into suspicious situations--which really is their job.
So if they outlaw junk grabbing, TSA can't do it and a terrorist would wrap det cord around his dick. (I'm half joking here but seriously you know someone would try)
Thank you Skip for your well reasoned and logical explanation. I don't like it but there it is.
Cavity search because someone might have a Glock and a grande up their but ? or a cigarette and matches to smoke in the bathroom ?
I am not really sure of TSAs purpose anymore.
I know I'm in the minority here, but I've always found it more demeaning to them than it is to me. $0.02
I don't believe on looking down upon the person, but gay/straight/whatever, if that 5 seconds is what you need for your jollies, that is pretty fawking sad and I do look down upon that, not with contempt but with pity. That's a truly pathetic state for a person to arrive at in life.
If fondling my junk makes me safer, I'll allow it... The happy ending to relieve my fear of flying is just a bonus.
In all seriousness, there are people abusing their powers everywhere. It's a shame that this is happening, but TSA may be a necessary evil.

I guess I,m one of the lucky ones, I have never been handled by any TSA agents. I've had all my carry on stuff gone through and I have been wanded but never been touched.
Eh.... not entirely. Seeing as how they were going beyond the scope of a simple security screening (cops have been brought up on charges during pat-downs and searches before), in this particular case, I could easily see how these TSA agents could be charged with unlawful sexual contact. They did admit to it, and also state they had a plan in place to do so. This satisfies the requirements for culpability and they should be charged.
Like you said, Skip, the fact that some out there want these dolts to be armed is a very frightening proposition.
Yup and I think they're admission was based on the belief they are immune. Ron Paul tried to repeal that immunity with a Traveler's Dignity Act or something a few years ago. It failed to pass...

But what is also interesting (to me) is I could not find the specific law(s) that permitted TSA junk checking. Plenty of decisions on the how the Fourth Amendment does not protect us from groping when deemed reasonable. Making it a game to check out "cute guys" obviously isn't reasonable. But I couldn't find anything that elevated that to a crime.Quote:
American Traveller Dignity Act of 2010 - Prohibits any law of the United States from being construed to confer immunity for a federal employee or agency, or any individual or entity that receives federal funds, who subjects an individual to any physical contact, x-rays, or millimeter waves, or aids in the creation of or views a representation of any part of an individual's body covered by clothing, as a condition for such individual to be in an airport or to fly in an aircraft.
I think you'll see this story die a quick death with no charges. I'm actually really surprised it was reported in the first place. Gov doesn't like to admit to its over-reach(around).
In a perfect world we have real homeland security--no need for DHS.
You are an excellent candidate to suggest watching "Please Remove Your Shoes", it's a great documentary (was on Netflix some time ago, not sure if now or not) made with a former FAA Security officer who used to test the security of different airports and he discusses the changes made due to the failures of Pre-911 screening. Really well done and proves the holes they had could have been fixed but bureaucracy screwed that all up and gave birth to the TSA and DHS. Hindsight is 20/20, but when they were pointing out glaring problems back in the late 90's it shows a history of dropping the ball and failing to act.
