The Great One, I'm not trying to start an argument. If you could pick the day of your death, assuming you and your family celebrate the holiday, would it be Christmas day? The answer is no. Just like you wouldn't make it your son or daughters birthday. Every year from that point on, that day is a day of mourning. Christmas shouldn't be that day.

Pretty much this. I loathed Wham! when they first made it big, didn't care for any of his solo stuff, and really detested him for being a public perv. I don't think the media would have made as much a big deal over him if he hadn't come out publicly as homosexual and his death now would be treated like any other flash-in-the-pan pop star's. My opinion is that someone dying on Christmas is sadder. I imagine his family and friends would feel that way, because the event colors that holiday for them from now on.
