Dang, he wasn't that old.
I guess he won't wake up before he go goes.......
WHAM! Headshot!
Did he die from something he got while playing for the other team?
Heart failure due to cocaine I bet. Merry Cocaine will kill you. At least he died in a nice place, I love the Thames valley area.
Somebody doesn't know the difference between a George Michael and a Boy George...
Deadpool must be bummed.

Welp, that's too bad.
^^^^[LOL]
It is sad to die on Christmas day though. Jeez, his family has to be crushed.
Yeah, but dieing on Christmas is a bit different than any other day. Not saying all others aren't just as tragic or whatever, but man, of all the days to go.
Yeah, that does kinda suck.
(wide open.....that's wide open)
If you celebrate Christmas, it is.
Speaking from personal experience, Doesn't mean shit what day of the year it is when you get the call.
We've had them a week before, or on Christmas, Thanksgiving, NYE, pick a day be it holiday, on the way to, at or from work, middle of night i've received them. As I'm sure others have
The irony is "we" mankind spends more time trying to avoid the inevitable. Than living everyday to the fullest.
The Great One, I'm not trying to start an argument. If you could pick the day of your death, assuming you and your family celebrate the holiday, would it be Christmas day? The answer is no. Just like you wouldn't make it your son or daughters birthday. Every year from that point on, that day is a day of mourning. Christmas shouldn't be that day.
Of course we can't pick it, that's why it's....I don't know, sucky.
Fuck him.
Did not like him in the 80s with his superficial fake phony music.
Did not like him when he came out as a gay man ONLY after making millions with idiot teenage girls, did not have the balls to put his carrier on the line by being himself from the very start.
Liked him even less when he was caught blowing strangers in piss-smelling public toilets.
Good riddance.
I wonder if anybody called a WHAMbulance??
There's a million of those memes on FB. :)
I'm sad that he's gone. I enjoyed his music very much, and liked seeing his rise in fame.
And the fact that he died on Christmas makes it even sadder.
Pretty much this. I loathed Wham! when they first made it big, didn't care for any of his solo stuff, and really detested him for being a public perv. I don't think the media would have made as much a big deal over him if he hadn't come out publicly as homosexual and his death now would be treated like any other flash-in-the-pan pop star's. Let's face it -- aside from the socio-political aspect of his public homosexuality, he didn't make as much of an impact on music or anything else as David Bowie, Natalie Cole, Alan Rickman, Nancy Reagan, or Joe Garagiola.
I will go this far: I am sorry for his fans because they are saddened. I didn't like his music at any time in his career although I recognized he had an amazing voice. I don't think death before, on, or after a special day any more or less sadder because of the date. If he had died before Christmas, people would be moaning that he didn't get to see one more. If he had died today, people would moan that it WAS his last Christmas.
I'm tempted to ask that there was a difference but Boy George was open in who he was from the start. I never liked either of them but I don't recall any episodes with Boy George over public lewdness.
Your dislike of him doesn't mean he wasn't enormously popular; he had six number one songs and sold over 100 million records. According to Wikipedia (yeah, I know) Natalie Cole sold 30 million. He didn't make an impact with you. I understand that. He was a B-lister in the music world. But trying to minimize what he did by comparing him to Bowie and Reagan is kind of a fallacy.
It's a shame that he had troubles with drugs, with lewd scandals and such. I hate to see public figures that have difficulty handling their business.
My opinion is that someone dying on Christmas is sadder. I imagine his family and friends would feel that way, because the event colors that holiday for them from now on. Not only is it Christmas, but that's also the day they lost their friend/family member. Sadness is not quantifiable, so it's just an opinion. :)
Boy George has had his share of scandal:
"In January 2009, George was sentenced to 15 months in prison for falsely imprisoning a male escort (Auden Carlsen) by handcuffing him to a wall and beating him with a metal chain. The incident, which happened in April 2007, stemmed from George's belief that Carlsen had attempted to hack into his computer while he was visiting George's flat for a nude photo session.[14] After being released from prison, George resumed his DJ career embarking on a worldwide tour of clubs."
Guess he's never gonna dance again.
Y'all are just bad.
There were some really hot models in that one video though.
I was in 9th grade and the girl i was after was in 7th when "wake me up before you go go" came out. She had the biggest crush on george michael and would not hear of any questions of sexuality. I actually saw him at the Tangerine Bowl in Orlando during the tour supporting "Freedom '90" (with a girl who lived across the street from the first girl).
I liked several of his songs--good songs are good songs, be it rap, pop, country, blues, metal, whatever.
Well, there are apparently people here that think that it's okay to denigrate others because they're a "raging homosexual" and a "marginally talented pervert" or a "virtuoso pervert."
You don't like him? Okay. You don't care for his music or his performances, I understand that. Everyone has actors/musicians/acts they dislike.
Taking to a forum post about someone's death to call them a "raging homosexual" and a pervert? That's just bad form.

I enjoyed it, but I know that not everybody did.
Something about saying something nice or closed pie hole comes to mind.
Keep it civil or this gets closed. Fail to heed this advice and you may enjoy a time out.
