And, at 110 proof, you cannot call it beer. Not that it's bad, it just does not qualify.
I've had beer in the ~40% range and as much as your palette tells you its a spirit, it is in fact a beer by definition...now weather it meets our federal requirements to be recognized as a beer remains to be seen. I'm not sure if there's a limit as to how much water can be removed from the beer if any?Quote:

Whether you use freeze distillation or steam distillation or even vacuum distillation, it becomes a "spirit."
Distilled beer (fermented grain) becomes Whiskey when distilled.
Good marketing ploy however.
Either way, there's no way in hell anybody would peg it as beer in a blind taster. No fizz, all bite.
Let's just say I won't be needing to worry about how to afford a bottle of this stuff. The dead squirrel thing is creepy, too. No thanks.

I was reading about these high alcohol beers a while back. Seems they are big in Europe and Asia. Graves beat me to the freezing part. I remember about 20 years ago Sam Adam's had a high alcohol triple bock that couldn't be sold in in quite a few states as it was not easy to classify. If they were a bit cheaper, I'd be a buyer.
Frankly I don't care how wonderful the product tastes, even as a hunter I can't fathom consuming anything packaged inside of an animal carcass. Disgusting.
