This guy was clearly trying to suicide by cop. Look at how he keeps pointing a gun at the cops, then putting it down and raising it again. I wonder what about it made them not shoot (heck, the one officer's right in the middle of the street with no real cover, which is the weirdest thing about it to me).

Actually, they tend to target males that aren't in the same boat. I guess they figure if they're the only guy left, it might improve their odds.
