Here’s a long shot, has anyone ever visited or been stationed in Greenland?
I am leaving next week on a contract to teach firearm operations in Greenland for 12 days and (shockingly) I have never been to the island before. We will be instructing in a costal area and then two glacier camps (camp Raven and Summit camp). Ski skid C130’s will be used for transport to the inland glacier camps.
Anyone with Greenland or arctic circle experience?
No...but sounds like a great experience.
Nights will be cold days will be warmer then you think. Bring extra sun block

I heared they have polar bears. Get us a pic if you can.

I never have been to Greenland, but I have been to Goose Bay, Canada. Flying over it I never realized there were so many islands. Huge wilderness is unbelievable. We were in a C-130. There was no civilization for hundreds of miles from the base. In Greenland you will be thousands of miles from civilization. It is the worlds largest island with 55 thousand people on it. It is a third larger in size than Alaska. It is going to be cool weather. It was always a joke in the Air Force that you screw up, you get sent to Thule Air Base. 76 degrees north is way up there! Should be a nice break from this heat.

My dad went there when he was in the air force. Said it was cold. Unfortunately we couldn't go as I guess there were no provisions for family members on base.

Made it to Summit station for our first instructing session. Shooting at 11,000 feet in below freezing temps with 30 knot winds has been challenging...
What are you using for gun lube in those conditions?

Friend and I used to provide bear training for one of the energy companies sending folks up to Alaska. Company bought them Mossbergs, required them to travel in 3's and at least one always had to carry the shoty. I always chuckled listening to them after shooting full power slugs all day.

Sorry Guys I only have an Iridium phone and limited bandwidth so I might miss some of your questions.
Supply’s and gun equipment is limited and needs to multi task. We have found that Shooters Choice fp-10 works well in these temperatures.
Rifles are Remy 700 based actions chambered in 30.06 (Greenland governments decision).
Now we know where they hide the dead space aliens bodies. They are in those little tents.
Well now I know I never want to visit Greenland.
Man that looks like a lot of fun.
May have (technically without authorization) gained access to an old NORAD DYE radar station last night...
