That YouTube promo is almost overwhelming in itself.
Now, I've gotta watch the whole thing.
Thanks for the links!

I've been hearing a lot about this movie in the last few weeks-looking forward to seeing it.FYI-Restrepo was a combat medic who was killed in the valley where the movie takes place.
I want to see this one if nothing else because I want to see a pro-soldier movie that somehow slipped past the ideological gate keepers at Sundance and ended up winning for best documentary.
When, where can you see it? Is it going to theaters or NATGEO? I havent heard of it until now.
The guy who embedded with these guys for months was on Jon Stewart talking about his experiences there and the guys who get stationed in a FOB like that. Pretty interesting stuff.
NatGeo has had some really cool documentaries lately... I know because I just did some advertising campaign for them. I keep meaning to watch this Drugs piece they did... the Alaska State Troopers espides were cool.

Anybody know when or if Landmark has plans to bring it to Denver?
It's opening in Denver on August 6th at Chez Artiste which is a four screen arthouse cinema at Colorado and Amherst. I've been there a couple of times to watch limited release movies.
And it comes to Colorado Springs a week later at a place called Kimball's Peak Three.
Looks like a very limited release for the time being.
Friday, August 13 @ the Kimball Theater (Pikes Peak & Tejon) in COS.
Anyone interested?
I wish they would have a general release so we can see it nearby. My wife told me about this a few weeks ago and it took some digging to even find out when it was going to be coming out. May have to way for DVD since that one date doesn't work well for us. [Cry]
Definitely going to see this in August.

Just a reminder it's playing now.. This 'documentary' worthed every minute!
Thanks Ken, I'll try and make the 1:15 or 4:15 today.
Chez Artiste
1:15, 4:15, 6:45, 9:20
I"ll skip it. I didn't see that level of action, but that doesn't mean I want to relive it either.
...and the rest of us armchair generals can only appreciate the time you put in through these kind of documentaries. It's hard to get any unbiased view on the wars now days.[Beer]
NPR had a pretty decent piece on this last night at about 1:00am.
