Seems I already have an account there but it has not been activated. However it does not offer me a way to activate my account or have an email sent to me for activation. Anyone know what I can do to fix this?

yes you have to pay to activate it..
You think Dudely is just going to let you buy, sell, and trade guns for free??? No freedom isn't free. [ROFL1] It's their way of staying pretentious. GO CO-AR15!!!
He's *really nice* when he talks to you about it, too...
Just dont expect a direct answer to a question you ask ether. But he is at the fore front protecting our rights

Before I found this site, I tried signing up not knowing you had to pay a yearly fee to access it. I got an e-mail saying once my payment was verified, my account would be activated.
That was about 2 years ago. About 3 or 4 months ago, my brother practically ran into my house saying "Go to co-ar15.com. It's just like colorado gunmarket, but it's free."
And to set the record straight, it's NOT just like colorado gun market. It's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better. In my opinion.
I genuinely don't have anything negative to say about RMGO, Dudley, or the colorado gun market, but I really have zero experience with any of them. So far, this site is the best thing out there. And way too easy to blow a couple hours messing around.
I get far more money from selling guns on ColoG than I ever have here. No offense, but here, the 1st responses you get are "Will you trade", or a low offer. On ColoG- it's "I'll take it". Worth every penny of the $25 you have to pay up front to post.
Hmmm... that's very interesting. It might have something to do with the fact that more people know of that site than this one, so with that knowledge people know they don't really have time to haggle before someone else will swoop in.
Like I said, it took me almost two years to hear of this site.
ColoG is an online gun buying/selling website. No talking no baloney. COAR seems to be more for talking, building, posting, etc. Don't get me wrong, lots of stuff gets sold on here, but it seems to me you really have to take a hit to sell something quick.
I'm sorry DSB, me no comprende. I've sold/tried to sell prob a half dozen guns on here- to sell, I have had to gradually lower the price, sometimes several times, and sometimes even that doesn't help. On ColoG, I have always gotten my asking price, never hard to haggle.
Yeah, this site is free to sell. I really like the FTF transction here. Get to know/meet more people.
I look at it this way:
- If you're just looking to sell firearms, pay the $25 to join RMGO and post on cologunmarket
- If you're looking for interaction with other firearms enthusiasts about a multitude of subjects (some of which we actually keep gun related[LOL]) and look at the selling of firearms as an added bonus, you're in the right place. There is also the added benefit of having a feedback area here to refer to before making a purchase.
It's all a matter of what you are looking for. Be warned though, the biggest drawback when you sell something on co-ar15.com is that you have to allow extra time for the BS session that inevitably happens at the end of almost all transactions. I don't think that I've met anybody from here that it hasn't been easy to strike up a conversation with for at least a good half hour after the transaction is completed.
I completely agree.[Beer]
Because of the ongoing firearms discussion that happens on this forum, most (if not all) folks here are very well informed when it comes to understanding the fair market value of a firearm or firearm-related product.
I have purchased and sold several items through this forum and every transaction has been a pleasant one.
I, for one, am very happy that we are offered the opportunity to take advantage of the "For Sale" section of the CO-AR15 forum free of charge. A big THANK YOU to the Mods and Admins of this site for this opportunity!! [Beer]
Although I love long conversation, I try to keep the conversation about 2-3 minutes.
I am usually with my family when I meet people here for transction.
However, I do love those 20min chat about firearm and COAR15. :D
The cost of Colo Gun Market is what turned me off. I'd rather meet some cool people, sell or buy, and be able to have a forum for feedback than make or save a few bucks.
There is always armslist if i wanna got that route, I agree with the point of why pay to maybe sell something eventually. I have had many good transactions here, sure there is always someone that wants to lowball but even though I find it annoying I sldo respect it becuse im a haggler too (unless the ad states firm). The only thing I have found I can't stand is when you propose trade and you get absoultly no response back. To not give the person the respect of telling them to go f yourself, no thanks or what not the person is just being a asshole and I will never do business with them or even look at an ad they have posted.
I browsed ColoG for a couple years before finding coar15. I made a few transactions during those two years, and somehow always felt I came out on the wrong end of the deal. I understand that when you list something here, or anywhere for that matter, you have an amount you want for your item. Sometimes I'm willing to haggle, sometimes I'm not. But I have made many more transactions here in the short time I've been a member, and never felt bad about one of them.
I also think here you are going to get more lowball offers out of the gate simply because this is a free site. People that have less money to spend are going to look here. $25 bucks isnt a lot of money to most people, but I'd rather have $25 in ammo than to pay for ColoG.
Like it has already been stated, everyone I have met from here has been a good person, easy to talk to, and usually I end up spending at least a half hour talking to them afterwards. ColoG is a classified site, coar15 is a community.
I like CGM personally. The difference between there and here is that there is a very long shopping list of some cool weapons on there, very easy to just poke around and find something you like. Here, there are LOTS of things I like but nothing I'm really looking for many times. For instance I was looking for an AK47 and posted up on here an only found one person looking to unload one and it wasn't what I was looking for, but checking CGM I find them popping up pretty constantly, I just haven't found the brand, features and price I'm seeking.
Oh, and I haggle EVERYONE (TV's, washing machines, CGM sales, everyone).
So is the cost of CO Gun Market just a membership in RMGO or do you have to be a member AND pay more?
I see nothing wrong with requiring RMGO membership to sell on an RMGO site ... I do think if it were free there would be more traffic, but since they require people to put emails or phone numbers in ads you don't have to be a member to browse and buy, just sell.
I am a little disappointed that RMGO bought the Colorado CCW forum and shut it down.
Sadly the only things I have ever considered purchasing off of CGM, there was no phone number or email in the add, only through the site could you contact them... Needless to say I was not going to pay $$$ to ask a question.
Although I am not registered at ColoradogunMarket, but I do watch their Classified section.
I do agree with few others who stated about the pricing on ColoradoGunMarket relative to other forums. Some firearms listed in ColoradoGunMarket tend to run higher in terms of price than other forums.

RMGO .....meh , not a fan of the dud at all . that other site sucks big ass unless your just trying to sell a gun to a random stranger of course .
co-ar15 has a great thing called feed back and i dont have to put my contact info for non members to see . really i could keep listing things but when its all said and done for me , i mostly like that i can meet folks and hangout with folks(not just here on the boards but also at the range )
Some organizations, as good as their leaders intent may be, need to hire PR people to interact with the public and on web forums. RMGO would seem to be one such outfit.
