If it were that easy NY and CA wouldn't be in the boat they're in. We want these bills as unenforceable as possible if (and in this case, when) they pass. Hoping they're all air-tight with the thought that they will be fought in the SCOTUS isn't the best plan of attack here.

As a current CA resident, I will say that we can currently import magazine parts to rebuild the STANDARD capacity magazines we currently own. Now, as we know, most magazines do not have a date stamp.

Also, the 1224 bill is unenforceable. How will a LEO know whether I purchased a magazine on July 1 or on June 31? I am moving on CO on March 22 and I plan to get as many standard capacity magazines I can for my current handgun, my future AR builds, and also for future firearms I intend to purchase.

Edit: To add, a rebuild kit is as simple as a disassembled magazine.

I know how to rebuild a magazine. I don't see how your post has anything to do with my point which you quoted other than you live in a state I mentioned. Help me understand how this is relevant to my point which was making the enemy stronger before the battle somehow helps us isn't a good plan of attack. People keep talking about how easy these will be to fight in the SCOTUS and if that was the case CA and NY wouldn't have some of the HORRIBLE gun laws that they do and have had for years and years.

My point was that it is still easy for ANYONE here to get standard cap or high cap magazines regardless of law. Now, only law abiding citizens are going to abide by the law. Criminals don't care... These democrats are only making it easier for criminals to have more victims. Crime WILL go up. Like you said, look at CA and NY, and more specifically IL.

As a newbie to CO, what can I do to help? I will vote in 2014, I will support a recall if necessary. My residency starts as soon as I get my new DL and I plan to do that ASAP. CA is a lost cause which is why I'm coming to this wonderful state with my family.

BAD TIMING!!! We are all looking to get the hell out of here!
I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.

Oh no! So I should decline my kick ass job offer? Tell my family that we should go ahead and be furloughed because the POTUS says so? I'll cancel all my arrangements right now! </sarcasm>

But, really, even with the current legislation being discussed, it's not as bad as CA. That's not an excuse, these bills are BS. BTW, why are the people that are representatives allowed to not hang around and listen? They're wondering around and having side conversations instead of doing their job.

That's not an option for everyone.

Denver is going to grab all 15+ mags charge you and make you sue to get them back, just watch. For a the burden to be on a prosecutor, there has to be something in evidence and charges pending or contemplated. All that means is that there is something in evidence locker.

The question for me is if you are a Denver resident and the DPD finds you with 15+ round mags, can they just based on that get a search warrant for your car and house to hunt for potentially illegal mags???

My county for example has the highest number of CCW's in CA. However, get caught with a CCW in LA and you are in for a world of hurt regardless. They don't get it.

On the first paragraph, a lot of PD's here in CA do the same. Fortunately, many PD's are educated enough to understand. Don't get caught with a magazine specifically for a gun that is obviously a new model, which in my case is a Sig SP2022.

The second paragraph, if they can do an illegal search and seizure based on just owning magazines with an unknown purchase date, there will be some cases going to the Supreme Court. I'm hoping any bills that pass go to that route and get overturned.
