well for all of the equipment and protocols looks to me these folks need to get some k-9 units.
I am curious if the fake item was just size shape appropriate or if it had any components that should have been detected like nitrates etc.

It wasnt too long ago that some woman walked through security with her .38 in her handbag. I myself went through security with a single edge razor blade in my backpack. It was tossed in with a bunch of decals for the race cars and never pulled out of the pack before I headed out to the airport. Got back to Denver and it just fell out when I unpacked. Awesome security job.
So if TSA goes away, does that mean no more hand jobs at the airport in front of 100's of strangers?
Would you replace TSA? With what? What kind of security would you design for commercial aviation that would be 100% effective? 90% effective? 80% effective? Pretty good, most of the time?
Please spare me with the Israeli methodology as it does not and can not be translated from their microscopic commercial aviation operation to domestic aviation in the USA.
