    I asked him if he thought it was fair that HB 1224 would ban nearly ALL magazines for semi-automatics because of the removable baseplate. He says he agrees that you gotta be able to remove that baseplate to clean the magazine... but he doesn't know what to say because it hasn't reached his desk yet and they are still working on it.

    Another great question and it showed he really doesn't know what the bills will do and will just blindly sign.

    Well, there's our answer. That interpretation is incorrect and removable base plate containing mags are not equivalent to those that are "easily modified". Business as usual.

    While true... every single one of my dozens upon dozens of XD and XDM magazines all have removeable baseplates and there are extensions that will fit almost every single one. So MY magazines will, unfortunately, fall under the "easily modified" restriction.
