If you go to the following page: http://www.denverpost.com/opinionpol...ubnav_Op_Polls

You'll see 8 polls. They keep 8 polls on there at any time. When a new poll gets put on the front page... the 8th (and oldest) poll drops off. You can vote on any of the 8 polls until that last one drops off (meaning a new one has been added). The way they prevent multiple votes from a single person is through cookies. The easiest way to circumvent that is through Safari... (BEFORE you load the page in safari... go into the settings and change it to where it denies all cookies... then turn on "private browsing"... then you can vote as many times as you want. If you want to take it to the next level... have several tabs... tabbing through each once to click the radio button... tabbing through each again to submit... rinse and repeat).

So they either have a script that is doing this for them dynamically... or they've got a dozen or so people just doing it non stop. My guess is a script because they sure haven't tired in these past couple of hours.

The sustained pace that the votes are coming in makes it pretty clear what's going on. Check it at 1 minute periods. The gains in the 'pro-1224' votes will be almost identical every minute. The (lower) gains in the anti-1224 votes are varied and sporadic. -- trust me, i'm a big skeptic on "tinfoil hat" stuff. This poll has shifted 10% in the last hour, and the pace isn't varying. There's no "conspiracy", but there might be, as I said, some hipster kid in an IT department who thinks he's saving the world.

You can do the same thing in Chrome by going into your cookie settings and selecting "Block sites from setting any data" and then bringing up a "New Incognito Window".

Chrome is my browser of choice... I just found it faster to do in Safari.

Yeah... at the pace they are going... we would need at least half a dozen guys going non-stop... maybe even a dozen to counter it.

You have a poll on there that has been open for a week... and it has half the votes of a poll that has only been open for a day? I don't think you need a tin foil hat to see what is going on there.

Oh well... you either fight fire with fire. Or you let it run its course. IF you fight fire with fire... you run the risk of them saying "see... it is rigged".

EDIT: I did not mean to quote myself. hehe

I really hope the Hick doesn't put much value on a DP poll. Anything that open to abuse is only for fun.

While I don't think poll numbers would sway him either way... don't think for a second he wouldn't use those numbers to help justify his vote if the numbers were in his favor! If the dems can use an almost 2 decade old poll in their argument in favor of universal background checks simply because the results were in their favor... I'm sure they would continue to play that game!

Well, I think the Post sucks, it always has....I was a RMN guy myself. Even if the poll won't be taken seriously by anybody important, I voted anyways.
