Just as long as it stops in the right place. I do remember all the talk about the issues but if this is just an IRS issue they care not about anything else but the money.

Long ago and far away I had an agent tell me "We don't care how or what with you made the money we just want our share"

It would not surprise me in today's world for the IRS to bust someone and there be a pound of coke in the room. The agent would look at it and go "When ya sell the rest make sure and send the check".

I know that when renewing a C&R that ATF will give you an authorization letter you continue to use your license while you wait for the new one. Don't know if they do the same thing for FFL01s.
