I was B&R in Oklahoma, caught and ate lots of cats, mighty tasty. Cats from lakes and rivers are better tasting, the ones from smaller ponds with no water movement can be kinda nasty.

C&R state record was pulled and put back in the chatfield spillway a couple years ago, 40lbs or so.

Try Milford Lake Res. Just NW of Ft. Riley in KS. for big catfish.

Another decent place to get them is mid-summer up at Bingham Lake in the Pinery subdivision. Caught plenty while I was fishing for carp using bread dough and corn, as well as hooking a few on 1.5" Gulp minnows when going after the wiper, bass, and crappie.

I think this lake doesn't require fishing permit.

Caught one at Adams county fairgrounds a long time back. Never really fished for them before

    Default Catfish?

I caught this beast last year at Chatfield. Got me a master angler award and tied the state record by length
