I agree it's always about money. As someone much smarter than me said, "Follow the paper trail."

While I don't think there should be any restrictions on it, I'd rather see... or rather "not see" more concealed carry personally. Why? Because in the aspect of safety, any time you actually need to USE it, besides just making a fashion statement, you will ALWAYS BE CAUGHT BY SURPRISE. Best if the other party(s) don't already know your armed and exactly where your firearm is or you might not even get the chance to draw and your family might be getting a phone call. Hell, the surprise may even be they draw it for you. (How nice of them). If your carrying just to make a statement, then by all means, open carry is best. If your carrying for the purposes of defense of yourself and others, concealed is no contest.

I agree with you here. I would add that the more CCW permits out there, the less confidence criminals have that their potential victims are not armed. I've heard this point made over and over. It makes perfect sense. I'm no criminal, but if I was I'd hang out in the "gun-free zones".
Open carry is as you wrote a statement. I support anyone who exercises their rights despite the widespread ignorance. It's just too bad no one can openly carry in the million gun owner march in Washington, D.C. due to local laws.
