My vote goes to Morton's or Del Frisco's

    Texas Roadhouse. +1

Haven't tried shanahans yet. I have a mortons gift card if someone is going, you can have it. $26 bucks left on it or something like that. Pays for tip.

I Never order steak out, it's just to easy to make a great steak at home. Now Texas Roadhouse makes a killer Chicken Fried Sirloin! Speaking of Texas, if you're ever around Amarillo...

    Go big or go home!
No I got a small steak, wasn't expecting much but it was seriously the best steak I've ever had. Maybe because they actually grill instead of broil.
Just never stay at their motel...shiver.

Default best steakhouse *bang for the buck

I've been to every high end steak place in town except Fleming's (a lot of vendor/client dinners for my job), and Capitol Grill is the best bang for the buck.

But overall (price not a factor), My opinion is this -

    1. Morton's
    2. Brook's
    3. Shanahan's
    4. Capitol Grill
    5. Del Frisco's

Anyone been to "The Famous" in Colorado Springs? If so, is it worth the price?

The Famous is totally worth the price. Good atmosphere, great service, and perfect steaks.

Del Friscos filet mignon is #1. Nobody can knock them of their perch.

Agree with Bailey, have eaten at all of them and BlackHat is about the only one I will order steak at anymore, at least in the Denver area. Good value and I would put them up against any of the higher priced places in Denver. Del Friscos is close but a lot more coin.

I make a better steak than most of them and spend some time on the seasonings, temp and trimming for less than 1/4 of the cost. Plus the grilled twice-baked potatoes with cherry tomatoes and fresh jalapenos can't be had anywhere else except at my house.
