I'm adding my wheel gun to make the already nice look guns above look even better I bought two of the Taurus M82 surplus South American Prison Guard guns.

They both look like Barney Fife practiced drawing in front of a mirror a million times but the bores are awesome and they shoot better than I do. Now I have bent the extractor rod on one of them, so gotta I get that straightened out.

Do you know the story behind the German proof marks? I think that is cool.

It is aExport pistol. Hamburg house proof, the eagle with "N" Below on the frame and barrel are the Nitro proof, and the shield with 83 is of course the year it was proofed. Im still waiting on a S&W letter to see more information. Im guessing its was sent to the military base as many vets have told me that you use to be able to buy rifles and pistols at the PX. I would guess it came back with the service man. Or its just a Export pistol that found its way back stateside. I try to update when i get the letter back. Either way very cool IMO as well.

That is really cool. My mother is German (naturalized US) and I was born in Germany. My dad was in the US Army. I lived over there a long time. On most military bases there is a Rod & Gun club they could also purchase firearms back in the 80s. Really cool history...now another bucket list type firearm for me ...American firearm with German proofs!!!
