feeding prairie dogs?
i have been watching the mounds get closer and closer to my property for 2 years now and we finally have a couple in our yard(and i saw a live one the other day!) is there any sort of feed i can put out to encourage the population on my property so next year i will be able to shoot them without worry of decimating the colony?
Feed the yotes...shoot 'em... They are like Doritos...they will make more.
Feed them lead... They love it to death!!
I would not feed them, they will get onto your property quick enough.
no so just leave em alone this year....and they should breed themselves up by next year?
my neighbors have had them for a couple of years now but wont shoot em
If you don't shoot them there will be AT LEAST 3x as many next year on your land. I wouldn't encourage them at all. Once they're there, they will reduce your grass to dust. The only time I would feed them is to bait them out of a hole.
Killing them actually stimulates more reproduction and their will be more, unless you are able to reduce a population by 70% in a short period of time.
Murdoch's sells these gallon jugs of lovely green "specially treated" wheat seeds.....
