Those are rattler towns. Obviously I need to get a ride down there, fix the RAT problem and knock some west of the missip sense in to you.

Agree....it's feeding time! Lead Snacks........and lot's of them. Seriously, kill em before they take over. 10 years ago I was PD free Now their in my pond dike, garden, etc. You haven't lived until they get under the house. Oh yeah, a $600+ vet bill for my dog last summer from the plague.

I'm pretty sure my infestation came from some rat saving hippies 10 years ago when some land 15 miles away was developed and the poor things were displaced.....they actually admitted, no boasted, of relocating their little souls to more pristine environments.

Worrying about singlehandedly decimating a prairie dog town is like worrying about wiping out the housefly population in the western hemisphere with a flyswatter: Nearly impossible, but probably a good thing if you can manage it.

Hahaha I am laughing about this as the project I am was required to do this exact thing! I told them I had a 10/22 i am solid with out to 200. The grimace on the owners face made me laugh inside. On a side note if any one in the springs wants to take a recent transplant out to smoke a few I am game.

Well, although I'd never go on a prairie dog hunt, I must join the rest and say don't bait them. Especially with the problems they can cause with plague - kids or dogs, it's just expensive and miserable.

Do you have a lot of property? Can you make it more attractive to birds of prey?
Between that and some lead application, your property will hopefully be prairie dog free soon.

Why not build something using a push button ignitor? Could be fun.

Now that you mention it, O2 tanks check, propane tanks check, extra welding hoses, regs., and adapters check, extra time because the economy sucks check, general overall hatred for burrowing destructive rodents check, going to scrounge the shop for an ignitor right now. I need a project!
