Default Buying ammo for younger sibling illegal?

Here's my scenario, my younger brother and I went to our local Walmart to buy ammo, they had some 9mm, I didn't have money so I borrowed money from my brother which he gave me in front of the clerk (silly me of course). Then the clerk said it's a straw purchase and I'm trying to buy for my brother since she saw my brother gave me money.
So I have bought ammo there countless times but here's the question.
    1) I heard that with adult supervision, a minor can buy things only adult can buy?
    2) in my conscience I am really trying to buy ammo for myself, but to the clerk I'm setting up a straw purchase, so is this the law or just wally's policy? I know my friend bought bought me handgun ammo at a dealer back when I'm not 21.

well, you shouldn't have gotten the money from your brother,

think about the position the dealer is in, jeopardize his license cause he sells you some ammo, next time leave your little brother at home. problem solved

I dont think the law has a stipulation for whether or not the minor is accompanied by an adult. If it was a small dealer it might have been fine, but walmart has cameras everywhere and if they were to be reviewed and you were seen taking money from a minor to buy guns or ammo then there would be hell to pay. I wouldnt risk my future over a sale like that either.

I Dont see a problem since it is family but the dealer does as they Dont know if it is a random underage kid or who knows what. Next time have your money ready!

The bigger question is you found 9mm at Walmart not after a shipment drop off?

I've had Sports Authority clerk refuse to sell me ammo because I looked younger than 18, even after I showed him my ID.
