Just joking with you. However, I am always wary of flees around prairie dog towns. We seem to get occasional cases of the plague down here around Colorado Springs - the ones I remember had to do with people walking or riding bikes within prairie dog towns and getting bitten by flees.
Funny story:
I shot prairie dogs just outside Schriever AFB between 1999 and 2003. The land we shot on was owned by the State and leased to a rancher, whom we received permission from to shoot the dogs. A couple of years later, Schriever AFB wanted to expand their boundary fence. Part of the new land included some prairie dog infested fields. Though Peterson AFB Public Health Group had tested the prairie dogs outside Schriever for plague for several years, they suddenly found evidence of the plague and therefore were authorized to eradicate them. Not all of them, just the ones within some distance of the new fence line.
I miss shooting on that property - the dogs were not very educated and would occasionally pop up within 100 yards. 55gr moly coated Hornady V-Max .223 was my preferred round for vaporizing the little varmints.
