That right! There is nothing unbiblical with partaking alcohol. You cannot build a biblical case for that. The Bible DOES teach that drunkenness is a sin.

If drinking alcohol was a sin, Jesus wouldn't have turned the water into wine at a celebration. When you become a drunkard...there's the problem.

So you guys are former Baptists turned Catholic or something?

Most of the Catholics I've known (clergy and laypeople) were never all that hung up on liquor. That's definitely more of a Protestant thing (and I say that as someone raised in a Mennonite church ... they make the Baptists look like free-wheeling drunkards by comparison).

Modern liberalism is based on the idea that reality is obligated to conform to one's beliefs because; "I have the right to believe whatever I want".

Hmmmm... religion. Never thought much of it.

It seems to me that whatever the hell the "denomination" is........ all of them at least do wine...even during their rituals and stuff.

Light a fire for a man, and he'll be warm for a day, light a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life...

Discussion is an exchange of intelligence. Argument is an exchange of
ignorance. Ever found a liberal that you can have a discussion with?

Not the Mormons. Blood of Christ during sacrament is Symbolic only and they use water. They are forbidden to partake in alcohol and many things that "poison" the body. This was told to me by a practicing Mormon so I take it at face value.

Credit TFOGGER : Liberals only want things to be "fair and just" if it benefits them.
Credit Zundfolge: The left only supports two "rights"; Buggery and Infanticide.
Credit roberth: List of things Government does best; 1. Steal your money 2. Steal your time 3. Waste the money they stole from you. 4. Waste your time making you ask permission for things you have a natural right to own. "Anyone that thinks the communists won't turn off your power for being on COAR15 is a fucking moron."

    ...including coffee and tea.

Not drinking alcohol is more of a Southern Baptist thing than it is Baptist in my experience.

I never understood denominations that use the same Bible as guidance and have "rules" that aren't in the book.
