I've heard of this... trying to keep away from adding more shit to this than I've already put into it, but I will keep this one in mind if I really really need to stand and shoot.

    I like you

The tripod is stable already... it's me bouncing the reticle around with every breath I take, the wind blowing on me, and who knows what else...?
I can see shooting inside 500 yards in this position, but that day I was just looking how it'll be like shooting an 18x12 inch steel target out to 638 yards... it was pretty entertaining... especially watching others try to keep it still.. no shots were fired in that position

So I tried shooting with this tripod again at a more comfortable position for right now.

    crossed legs

    sitting on my left leg

both work pretty well, but I won't hit less than MOA at a hundred shooting like this... anyone here got any tips to make it better

Try adding in your sling to lock everything in.

I was playing with my sling/tripod and found a pretty solid position hooking my sling around the cradle and around my back. It paid off at the Safari.

When you've got a leg tucked under, try using your pack to stabilize your non-firing hand.
Just doing what I can to stay on this side of the dirt.

Heck yeah.. That's what I have been trying to convince him to do.. A gun port or mount instead of a cane port.
