Cabelas "Limited" Edition Hardcover Fall Catalog

Anybody else get one of these? Was wondering if it was something special due to the incoming Colorado stores, or only sent to a few people or something? It seems awful expensive to send out as a catalog to everybody.

I also get two per year and have for several years now. i think they give it to those that spend X amount of money there each year. Must be so expensive to print and ship!

I get them but find it surprising that print catalogs even exist anymore.

You'd be surprised indeed. My company deals with selling names to marketers, and about 50% of our business is to catalog companies. When they were interviewing me, I too expressed surprise, but they explained that catalogs drive interest. You can't really browse too well online, but having the catalog lets people see things that they might otherwise not get. So even though they will then buy from the website, it was the catalog that drove the interest. You can also pass catalogs to your friends and family, giving it even more value.

Catalogs do work on me.. Mine get stored just beneath the toilet paper roll.. I read the shit out of me and then get off and want to buy...
