    Default Texas Hog hunting ?

Would anyone here happen to know of a reputable guide servive or outfitter that isn't crazy expensive or a shady operator for Texas pigs in the Amarillo area?

I am interested in going down there for a few days but I am not really sure what the best way to go would be. If anyone could school me on it I would appreciate it.

I was hoping someone would chime in on this... as i am interested a hog hunt as well. I am looking at texas- but also at any good, target rich environments that might be closer. I know i have a solid 5+ hour drive on my hands no matter what though...

There are a lot of hunting forums out there; members comment on the good and bad ones of hog hunting. Find a forum specific to the area you want to go to.

There are not many hogs near Amarillo. Further south towards Laredo and you will be falling over them. For north Texas I have hunted Vernon, Quanah and Childress area with mixed results
I say lets all remove the warning labels and let nature take its course.

I'm actually headed to a friends private ranch in Wimberley TX in October. He raises cattle and the hogs are everywhere. Gonna be interesting shooting from the bed of a moving truck. Just Google hog hunting in Texas.

I'd rather be in a moving truck than facing a pissed off wild hog! We shall see. I hope I can find a processor nearby to Fed Ex the meat back home.

Why not go whole hog, so to speak, go down to Texas and do one of the helicopter hog hunts.

Now if I could only find one of the helicopter outfits that have an M60 on a side door mount..........

I don't understand this pig situation down here. Every farmer and rancher is complaining about the burgeoning population and the damage they do, but when you go ask to shoot some of them everybody has their hand out. I've been down here a year now and I'm getting a couple of places lined up that will let me come in without paying, but it hasn't been easy.
