The terrorists have attacked our imaginations!!
Subjecting private networks to government mandated security standards?? If the governmental network has been compromised, then obviously their network security didn't work, why would I want it for my personal network?
Sounds strangely parallel to the whole heath care debacle.

Like usual, this bill has no backing and isn't going any where. Just because it was written, is no cause for alarm. Yawn.

Hopefully you don't wake up and find it did pass.
I'm with Sturtle, right now it's a yawner. We're not going to wake up one morning and find out it has been passed. There are too many vested interests watching for the messiah to sneak it through.
Remember when dear leader tried to run single-payer through in July, remember all the protests and town hall meetings, same thing will happen here. The true Americans are waking up and they don't like this crap one bit, and the silent majority is becoming very loud, very quickly.
The Cybersecurity Act of 2009 can be tracked in a couple of places:

I agree with Sturtle also, this is how the big panic on guns and ammo started and drove the prices up and the inventory down
If the net ever did actually get shut down, it's questionable if anyone could bring it back up. Never been done. I sure don't want that in MY job description.
I do think its important for everyone to see this, it has a long way to go and wont sneek through but thats only because we are watching and its important to share with everyone whats in these peoples minds so they can be shown why they should not vote for said person/s again.
Anyone know how the physical aspect of how this could actually happen?
Dont the telecom companies have all the servers and equipment that run the web, how could any one person shut the whole thing down?
I would guess they would need to get all these people together to take it down, or is there some simple way to kill the web.
True.
I would like to think that this kind of legislative language would be a political death knell for those who support it. ...or public pillory. Your choice.
With Republicans like her the 'party' is never gonna get my vote back. Never.
The Republicans are going to have to clear out the statists who wish to ever grow the scope, scale, and authority of the Federal Government if they want my vote or want me to be a delegate again. I just don't see it happening.
