Default Mount for Bushnell TRS25 for AR

A friend just built his first AR. He is pretty tapped on cash now but still needs sights. He'll probably spring for some MBUS but of course wants an optic. I'm a go big or go home type of guy but like I said, he's tapped out now. Since he has a Bushnell TRS25 for his takedown Ruger 22, I thought he could mount that on his AR as a temporary stopgap.

Any idea on what mount to buy for a absolute or a 1/3 Cowitness (I'll let him decide).

I don't think having a red dot on that takedown 22 does him any good because the front half never mounts the same requiring him to re-zero it.

    Thanks

    gracious....

assuming the .83" is an absolute and the 1" works to a 1/3 cowitness...

I believe that is correct. I have used that medium riser with exactly the same optic on one of my builds, but there's no reason to pay that much. Look here. They have the tall 1" ones too.

I bought the same sight for my 15-22 and I used the UTG riser. Very cheap and does the job.

This is what I would do but a 5$ mount for the 30$ site and call it gtg
