Isn't there some other section that would be a better fit? People go to the obituary section to read about the death of their loved ones.. not sure a political ad would fly. If you can show me examples of this section being used by other people in a similar fashion then i would be on board.

Most papers have a general section of some sort or an announcements section where lawyers and stuff put the mandatory public legal announcements and so on.
