Probably the Toyota recall on floor mats.

I only call 911 when local fast food places are out of chicken.

HA! I remember that video. Those people seemed genuinly distraught over the chicken.

It's more than the Camary, it's like half of the new car fleet. Toyota's biggest recall ever.

Oh. I only heard about the Camry. Can't they just take the floormats out and fix the problem?

    What?

No. No, that would never work. Toyota's engineers say that the only way to fix a floormat causing a gas petal to stick is through a total recall and extensive mechanical efforts. They are engineers after all. Something simple and logical just couldn't be effective.

    What are "floor mats'?

Can't say that they have ever "stayed" in any vehicle I ever owned..

The state bought a bunch of Toyota's this year. They have put out warnings to remove the floormats on all of them.

My mom had some crappy $10 Walmart universal mats in her car. She couldn't quite understand why I told her to get on eBay and buy mats made specifically for her car. She finally did and then she saw on the news where someone had gotten into a bad accident and was in critical condition because the floor mat had snagged the accelerator and speed her into a wall. There was someone else in the car and that's how they knew. She called me the second the story was over and thanked me for being so stern on making her buy new floor mats. I'm as tight as they come but there are some things I refuse to save money on. Car floor mats is one of them.
