I'm game Sniper! Maybe we can just set a time to meet up & let's wing it! I bought a tool kit too, because i realized that it didn't include tools for installation. Mine should be arriving before the weekend.

Yes, I am installing the tint on my Impreza Outback Sport wagon. I guess the rear glass will need to be shrunk afterward, but the rest should be g2g.

Shrink before to create the shape.
I left the film on the outside of the glass with a baby shampoo/water solution on the glass to hold it in place. Clear layer of tint should be on the outside. Squeegeed a line to hold it down (with the "suction" of the shampoo solution) and used a dry towel on the clear and dry side of the tint along with a heat gun to shape the film the way I wanted. I then applied the film to the inside of the glass without the creases that would typically show.

Garage door glass is flat, completely different than automotive. You won't learn much other than waste film.

I don't go through vehicles alot so i'd rather spend the money for a professional like TH to do the work.

There is some good information is this thread. Baby shampoo is the way to go. I would recommend shrinking ALL the windows, not just the rear. I would also recommend a dry shrink in the back and wet shrink on the sides, otherwise you will get fingers when applying it. I don't use the precut stuff. All the windows that I do are custom cut to "your" windows. The precut don't always fit perfect and you get light gaps.

$13 for film, I wouldn't trust that it won't turn purple, peel, fade, and bubble. I use only high end films, Suntek, 3M, Madico, and Solargard. You get what pay for. If you decide to go the professional route, I charge $220 for wagons, shoot me a PM and we can set up an appointment.

Shrink everything before you apply it.
