I have been a customer with AMFAM for 13 years. Never had a problem with them, they are average in price, but it tried to shop around a year ago and couldn't find cheaper as a new customer. They also insure my house and I get a big discount because of this.

Started with USAA. Switched to a small company for a year but switched back to USAA in 2011. Besides auto, I have renter and high value with them. Plus all the other services.

I have Safeco and pay total of $751 per year for full coverage on 3 vehicles. It was less when I had my house insurance with them but they cancelled me because of my dobie.

That is terrible. Please don't let that leave a bad taste in your mouth about ALL of Allstate. Rates are tricky because it's usually a result of claims paid out, projected claims, etc. However, the agents job is to talk to you about it, explain ways to offset rate changes, and be the utmost professional when doing it.

I switched my home and auto after they raised my rates almost 50%, right now i pay less for 3 cars (94 4runner, 2011 Forester, and 2013 Pilot) than i did before with travelers with just two vehicles. Plus Dave_L contacted me about adding the coverage after the tread where a members sister was hit with an uninsured motorist. Granted he was not the cheapest, but I will pay more for a higher level or service. I got a birthday gift card in the mail, which i never received with travelers.
    Thanks Simon!

Country financial. Just made the switch. Better coverages for home and auto and literally half the price. Which was my fault for over paying. Contact me my agent)which is a great friend) works Denver metro area and north.

I just figured it was corporate greed. This was the time my brand new house lost 30% of its value. Not to mention the agent was truly an ahole to me...he didn't even try to negotiate or offer any options. I explained his attitude to your corporate HQ, you really think they gave a damn?

full disclosure--I'm with USAA. Been with them since they gave me my first auto loan in '97. I also worked for them for about 10 months as a claims adjuster.
I have everything with them except my home loan and home insurance.
I've been lazy in not looking around due to the drama of life. Was talking with a friend about it and realized I'm getting gouged.

If you can get USAA and don't, you might want to check them out.

I'd like to think so but corporate can be corporate sometimes. Its too bad agents are like that because rates do fluctuate and being a jerk will insure that the people never call them again. Do the best job you can, all the time, and people will give you another when their new policy spikes. We've even sent gift cards to long term clients if they cancel with us as a way of saying thank you. It's just the right thing to do after long term support.
