Ummmm, Wyoming... It's not that far. Just don't buy Pmags or anything else with a date stamp on them. Don't know why they didnt stop putting dates on all their mags as soon as this law was signed by Hick. Pay cash and throw away the receipt too. Done.

Find me a LEO or DOW officer that will actually take time out of his day to check the damn date stamp of a mag that "might" be suspicious. As far as my county the SO and local Leo's could give a rats ass when the mag you use was made as long as your not shooting in town or endangering the public in some way. That particular law is so f**kin retarded. Hell half the time they don't really care if you do shoot in town as long as you have the proper equipment >< gotta love Fremont county.

I would say pretty much any of the Police forces around Denver have a good majority of personel that would look for something to get you on if they don't like you for some reason. That Golden Police Chief was the one of the star witnesses for the dems when this crap got passed. Denver PD enforced a 20 round limit for the last decade or two. Don't kid yourself into thinking they won't use whatever they can when they feel like they need to make an arrest of some sort.

Where you'll run into trouble is if you're running a "too new" >15 round magazine in a gun you use in a self defense shooting. The second place you might run into trouble is if the police are searching you, your vehicle or home on some other charge and they find the "contraband magazines".

Otherwise I seriously doubt anyone who is otherwise law abiding will ever be charged under the law ... of course the point of these laws is not to enforce them but instead to use them to curb commerce they don't like and to use as a bludgeon against a political enemy when its convenient.

I seriously doubt these laws stay on the books for long (but that's another discussion).

Apparently in Canada (where they have these silly mag capacity limits too) there has been an explosion in people buying .50 Beowulf magazines to get around the law.

Different follower, once you alter a mag for use other than intended you violate the law. YMMV. This was discussed in the L&P forum .

The Canuks are saying the .50 Beowulf follower works just fine with .223.

I think our legislators were going to specify what is acceptable to block magazines until the recall happened and they are now scared shitless. Hudak was at the state captial this weekend to rally calling more action on gun controls in CO, maybe about 10 other people attended the rally with her......

Once Dickenpooper gets relected and the Dems take stable control of both state senate and house, we will have a lot more than universal background check and 15 rounds limit coming our way.
