Sometimes on a gun board it is easy to forget that not every aspect of life is directly tied into gun ownership and knowledge of firearms. Making sure your kids are safe and not allowed in an environment that you don't trust, is rule #1 in parenting.

My friends know about how I stored my firearms (before they were lost in the tragic boating accident), they know about my attitude and actions pertaining to firearms safety, and they trusted the environment.

Some people you just can't explain things to, but that doesn't ruin them for every other aspect of life. We never get together for anything gun related, so they never come up. Whenever they come over, she asks if my guns are put up, I always tell her, "Duh."
