As I am more of a horror/action buff:

The Conjuring is probably one of the better "spooky" flicks as of late; not much gore, but well directed/edited.

I think the Conjuring might be one of the scariest movies I have seen. Right up there with Insidious. Both so-so movies but scary.

I also thought The Conjuring was pretty good. Almost up there with The Exorcist. Horror movie guys should check out The Orphanage by Gilermo Del Torro. Decent scary movie, but better than so-so movie IMO.
