    I hope youre right FWIW
The toughest one to repeal will be the UBGC law ... but even that isn't immune, lots of people hate it and its possible that the repeal of all the new gun laws will come down to a single bill.
The mag ban will very likely be repealed as its stupid and people hate it (and it may be overturned by a constitutional amendment voted on by the people).
We're going to be stuck with the $10 fee tacked on to BGCs forever though ... but if it just applies to FFL transfers it'll suck but we can probably live with it.

Obviously I hope they both get repealed but I sure hope they separate the bills if they do try. I don't have high hopes that the UBGC will ever get repealed and I would hate to have repealing the mag ban shot down because it was tied to the UBGC bill.

Maybe our governor or future governor can learn from Dear Leader and repeal them with a state EO?

I hope so but I don't see the BGC ever going away. There are many gun owners/supporters that even approve of it. It would be political suicide for anyone to try and appeal it.

You say this in a thread about the third legislator in Colorado history to face recall PRECIOUSLY because of the BGC law (along with the others). No, it would not be political suicide for anyone to try to repeal the BGC law ... it may be difficult, but frankly any politician that tries will be a flippin' hero to a large chunk of Coloradoans.

I also don't buy the "many gun owners/supporters approve of it" bit either ... most of the "even most gun owners support BGCs" nonsense is about supporting Brady checks at gun shops, not UNIVERSAL BGCs. And even then I think its more about them being asked in polls if they approve of "laws to keep guns out of the hands of criminals" in the generic sense.

I personally know many gun owners who support the BGC. I don't agree with them but they have the right to there opinion.

Remind them that everyone who left their guns at a friends house for safe keeping because of the fire or flooding is a criminal now under the BGC law.

I don't doubt there are SOME that support the BGC law (there's been Fudds for years), I just dispute that it's "many" (and clearly not "most") but even then there's a big difference between supporting a law in the abstract and fighting for a law. I would bet that most of those gun owners that support the law are not likely to march in the streets to keep it nor hold it against a politician that voted against it.

The fight ain't over, but our side is a hell of a lot stronger than many here seem to think. Of course maybe this is how the once proud state of California fell ... not from the strength of the leftists but from the defeatism of the right. If I thought this fight couldn't be won I'd already be plastering the SLC, Boise and Coeur d'Alene areas with my resume and emailing realtors (and keep in mind I'm generally a pessimistic guy ... just ask my wife).

If that's the case then national level it will go. Fuck it.

Wasn't BHO advocating that earlier this year?
