oh really? can you post where all of their profits and donations go to or are you just reciting what some extremist told you? i have seen a list back when i worked for them about four years ago, i wouldn't call it to the left. i would call it to the center, some on the left and some on the right, and more importantly the vast majority of it goes to the individual communities they service, thats their main design.

and have you ever looked where walmart's money goes? perhaps you should.

And you've got quite a bit of butt hurt going towards those not in love with Target soooo....

What a stupid topic to argue over, my monies don't stretch nearly as far as some of the folks on here (judging by the TP, and recent purchase sections), so I shop where I can afford to shop, and if that means the super evil corporation that is Walmart, then so be it.

I'm all for sending my money to business that "more or less" support my ideals, but at the end of the day, food on the table for my family, at a price I can afford is top priority, and Target is not in my top 3 choices.

i don't care if people do or don't, but i worked for them and saw the inside and believe they are a good company. to not shop at them because they are a bit higher in price? thats understandable. the BS about they support the left only, they don't like veterans, they are 100% for gays and lesbians is just ridiculous garbage people heard on the internet and believe. no factual evidence. further, thinking people that shop at target are elitist is laughable. i don't like walmart because the cleaniness and lack of people to answer questions or help you find anything. also the really long wait lines. i don't hate walmart because its more "poor" people or something like that. but i bring up those gross overgeneralizations to show how ridiculous generalizations like that are, especially, as i said, about corporations who are massive and employ and serve a crazy number of people. i think not liking target due to prices and not liking walmart due to cleaniness are factually based arguments that are reasonable. some of the other stuff being thrown around is a bunch of factless crap.

and for the record i didn't start a thread about how crazy people are for shopping at walmart and not target, because i realize everyone has different circumstances and things they like. the OP started the thread so i am simply responding to what i feel is a completely ridiculous stance. there are plenty of reasons to not shop at walmart, just as there are plenty of reasons to not shop at target.

We shop at both. Somethings are cheaper at Target others at Walmart.

Also some Walmarts are nicer than others and have different shoppers.

i agree, and some targets are worse than others and have different shoppers. this is what i mean by these companies being too big to have absolute generalizations. the target i interned at in aurora was fairly trashy due to the community around it. the one in broomfield is nice as hell. similarly, the walmart i had near me in aurora was terrible, the one in broomfield is pretty dang nice.

Any store that has weak security and/or IT procedures...

They allowed malware to infiltrate their network, one could argue it won't happen again, they will now be extra cautious.

They are both publicly traded companies... Their management may be left, but stock holders are surely all over the pace.

there is a great app called 2nd vote that complies the data and ranks scores based on corporate donations and causes they support. Target is near bottom of the barrel for things I support, Walmart is marginally better.

big difference between supporting the left and simply supporting things you don't agree with. the majority of their money goes to food banks and local schools. maybe you consider those things left. they certainly can't come out and be against same sex marriage, thats a death wish. some of the organizations they support do good things and bad things, thats basically true of the majority of organizations.

for example. "target partnered with a business that supports a cap and trade system". does that mean target openly supports cap and trade? these public traded companies can't do anything right by everyone's eyes. don't donate, people hate you. donate, and people will use it as proof your company believes a certain ideology. i see lots of "they donated to a company who has a guy that knows a guy that was the brother of obama's wife's aunt. thus, they must support obama".
