They're just known for being very anti-gun and liberal in their political views. I only have HBO on the satellite for the next few days (I had a free 90-days of HBO & Showtime becaused I bitched long and hard about the poor service we got from Dish Network).

Is it HBO or Showtime that did the reality show with with The Shootist?

When I applied for Denver PD, they showed some movie after the physical and written testing. It was a British film that was released under one name in Europe, then another name here. I asked what it was called, and remembered the name for about a year, but every time I looked for it, I could never find it. It's driving me crazy trying to think of the title. I want to say it was early 90's and has a Munich kind of feel to it. I might be wrong though, since I never finished Munich.

I would put it in my top ten. It was pretty cliche and predictable, but i like it none the less. To each his own...

I would be cool if they would make a movie about special warfare and actually put some money into it. Can anybody suggest a good one?

Well cliche and predictable was my problem with it, so since you realized that....

War of the Worlds 2? I hadn't even heard that this movie existed which tells me that it's a real stinker!

I too liked Tears of the Sun but fully agree with the "cliche and predictable" evaluation. Once you accept that, you can focus on the shooting and things blowing up which makes any movie a winner in my book.

I watched it the other night for the first time.

Basically think about everything Tom Cruise believes in, roll it into one big movie, add a thousand times he should have been killed in the movie but didn't add a happy ending and you have war of the worlds.
    I wasn't impressed.

One from your list: Heat. The original, LA Takedown, was a made for tv movie I think, and definitely suffers in comparison to the big budget version.

I loved Red Dawn, and I'm going to have to watch it again now I've realised it's set here. Whenever I am dying with the flu, I always scream at my wife to avenge meeeeee!

Haha, that's funny. I thought that scene was pretty awkward. I wanted to tell the dad, "Hey bub, you're still alive and no one is even doing anything to you, calm down."

I also didn't realize Charlie Sheen was in that movie. In some scenes I suspected it was him. Same with the girl who played Baby in Dirty Dancing. Though, the copy I saw was pretty poor in quality.

Best remake. I'll give it a go. Nothing against the originals either.

    Gone in 60 seconds
    The Fly
    Cape Fear
    Ocean's 11
    The Bourne Identity
    The Maltese Falcon
    Titanic
    The Omega Man
    The Thing
    Dawn of the Dead
    Sling Blade
    Ransom

Others I'm sure. I still like the originals but the remakes were well done.
