    Something simple to convey your life without cluttering up the original design. More is Less.
    I would also add some more shading / gray wash to the darker areas of the NO symbol. This will pump some new life into it and bring the design together with out going overboard.
    Then every 5 years another +5
    The other was sort of like this but with the dates of my milestones along the way up to 5.

    But I don't want to do chit until I hit 5, lest I jinx myself.

    You have 4 years, show it off. Every day is a milestone for someone.
