You would be surprised the things that go on in the ER. My dad is a security guard for a hospital and he has some stories. I sure as heck would not want to be an unarmed Security guard in an ER. Ohh they don't have enough bullet-resistant vests for all the guards so they only store them for when some type of event goes on.

Hell when I was a guard they didn't have vests for us, period. The ED can get nuckin' FUTS.

Technically hospitals are no-firearm zones, but like most have said, you're only going to see detectors at the ED. Don't even TRY anything sheisty at the Children's ED-they have that place locked up tighter than a dolphin's butthole.

I was at Littleton Adventist ER recently and didn't see any metal detectors...they had an armed security guard though...which brought the total of individuals carrying a firearm to at least 2 that night

My trip to the er included a metal detector and a cop manning the desk. Needless to say I had to hobble back to my car.

Last I was at children's there were no metal detectors that I could see

Every one I've ever been to has had a "no firearms" sign, although I guess that's just a common policy.

The old guy at the ER in ft Collins about went ninja on me over a small pocket knife I use for resetting routers.

The hospital in Cheyenne would have let me in with 2 guns.
