    And people wonder why the youth in America resorts to things like Columbine and the like... They're not being taught the right way anymore. I didn't learn in school, but my dad and grandpa made sure my brother and I knew how to safely handle a firearm at a young age and the rules and responsibilities that go along with it. I plan on using the same .22 rifle I learned to shoot with my kids!

    I would say I didn't learn gun safety in school (learned that earlier from my father & uncle), I learned marksmanship from my high school... qualified for the rifle team... they used German air rifles (forget the model #) and I got very accurate with the coach's instruction... and learned fundamentals that I still use today.

    But I agree with the principle: gun safety should be taught from the first introduction to firearms- and the healthy respect for them built... teaching them that they're scary just teaches them that they can scare people with them...
