    Default Two questions

    1) Does anyone have experience with Alien holsters?

    2) Does Colorado link your CCW to your drivers license? Like what happened to that Florida CCW holder in MD when he was pulled over and held for 90 minutes (car searched) just because the officer saw he had a permit and assumed a weapon in the car.

No, CHP permits are not linked to Colorado drivers licenses.

Haven't there been a few threads about members that have been pulled over being asked about their CCW and weapons by the officers even though they didn't offer up that information ?

Or was I just hallucinating again.......

Most, but not all sheriffs put CCW information on CCIC back "in the day". However, it has not been available on CCIC for a few years now. That is not to say that when a vehicle is pulled over and the driver has a CCW issued in that particular county that that information may be transmitted to the officer by the dispatcher as part of the clearance and warrant check of the driver.

Sitting and talking with a DCSO officer the other day. They pulled my DL up on their little computer and in BIG RED LETTERS it said "CONCEALED WEAPON PERMIT"..

More interesting part - the picture that came up was not my DL picture but my CCW picture..

Years ago the CCW info was in CCIS, however now it is not, i think it was removed in 2011 but I am not sure.

Asmo, you proved my point. A DL photo is not connected to normal CCIC DMV records and must be requested via CCIC to be sent by email. They do not provide DL photos with DMV information. In your situation, the DCSO deputy, his system also searches their internal database.

It's not my preference in style and is a complete Crossbreed ripoff. With that said, for $35 it's hard to say no if you're ok with that style. I'd give it a shot if I was in the market for that style holster. Look at the Comp-Tac Minotaur Spartan Holster. It's about double the price but they're great holsters.

I have an Alien Gear Holster for my MP Shield and it works very well for me. Its comfortable and fully customizable to your preferred carry method. I looked at the Minotaur but like Blacklabel said, at the end of the day $35 is way cheaper than $90. Plus they have a 365 day return policy and free kydex swap if you decide to carry a different model gun. Im not at all an experienced carrier (about 2 months now) so my knowledge of other holsters is very limited but price and comfort were both factors for me.
