Ok class 001: Hit your self as hard as you can with your thumb, pointer and middle finger in the head, this is a FMJ, yea it stings but you will be ok. Now again hit your self as hard as you can with all 5 fingers and your palm, this is the R.I.P. gimmick round, kinda painless when compared to the FMJ right? Now again hit your self as hard as you can with your fist, this is a well designed hollow point, if you really hit your self as hard as you could you might have problems reading this. We are working with the same mass and speed in this experiment but all 3 give a different result.
Let me know if you want class 002.
So does that mean you would be willing to take a hit from one of these? The energy it showed going through the ballistic gelatin seemed to be pretty substantial. Maybe it wouldn't knock you down, but it sure as hell would take alot of fight out of you, while you were bleeding out of multiple holes.

That's mu thought is that I should at least try a box. Whether or not it's good enough to become defense rounds? Time will tell.

I do agree that these will be the "assault bullets" they try to get banned next.
I don't make the rules. I just think them up and write them down.

Knockdown power? Stopping power? From a 9mm handgun round?

Glad someone else noticed if you pause the first video at 224 you can see the calibration bb in the left side of the block it's only supposed to penetrate 8cm it looks like it penetrated 7-8in!

I have seen several ballistics tests that use denim in front of the gel to simulate shooting a dressed person, you would be surprised the amount of energy lost penetrating denim or a heavy coat

I wonder if those little slivers will penetrate soft armor, that's probably the real point. Similar to flechette ammo. Thin enough to get in between the weave.

everyone thinks they need a bigger round to have stopping power, feel free to stand in front of my 9mm if you want to test that theory.

i bookmarked this little posting at one time. it is interesting and it does have stats with denim

Yep. I see this producing ugly but shallow wound channels. Like birdshot. I call voodoo.

I hear this argument quite a bit, and I never understood. I wouldn't stand in front of someone throwing a cue ball at me... doesn't make cue balls ideal for self defense.
