And dang HB, how many days has he been sick now? Are you still pumping him full of pedialyte? (not that i have any experience with that, but its what everyone always says so I figured it applies here)

Yeah... go ahead and taste some pedialyte sometime.... it's AWFUL. good luck getting a 10 month old to drink any!!

Either way, He was really sick on Saturday, pretty bad on Sunday, and slowly improving ever since. I have spent hours on the phone with our beloved healthcare system that ya'll are about to get just trying to get an appointment. Finally, got through this morning at 0804 after 38 minutes on hold, and they told me that the only appointment they could get him into was at 8:30, 45 minutes away. They told me the best they could do was to have a triage nurse call me and determine if an off-base referral was warranted.

Just got a call from the triage nurse, and she told me everything I already know: make sure he is drinking lots, try pedialyte, watch for a fever, make sure he sleeps lots.. Really? i had no idea those things would help... then she excitedly informed me that they had a 0730 appointment available tomorrow morning, where a doctor is just going to tell me the same thing.

Don't like it? Go find the owner of the next car you see with an Obama2012 sticker and punch them in the throat.

I thought they made a flavorless pedialyte? Our vet told us to give that to one of our dogs two years ago before she passed since she hadn't eaten/drank in 3 days. He told us it was flavorless and I thought my wife tried it and said it tasted like water, but I could be mistaken. [dunno]

That sucks about the medical care you aren't getting. I honestly can't remember the last time I went to a doctor for being sick, then again that might have something to do with my Dad being one and I'll just call him, tell him my symptoms (usually only after I've been sick for a week and need antibiotics), and he'll prescribe something. My wife is starting to see the upside in that, especially when she can't get in to see her doc for a week when she's sick.

But good luck, I really hope he gets well soon!

Yeah, the "flavorless" stuff is nasty! It leaves a really weird aftertaste that doesn't go away for a while. The flavored stuff is basically just gatorade. Electrolytes, sodium, sugar, etc... It's got what plants crave.
