All,
I am in the market for a nightstand safe or something similar. It's for revolver and needs to be able to be mounted to a nightstand or dresser.
What do you guys use or recommend that isn't too expensive?
Thanks

Define what you consider "expensive".
I use a V-Line box for about the same thing.
Spending more than $200 on a nightstand safe seems silly to me.

I use sentry safe under 200 and works well

Ditto on the V-Line. I use the V-line hideaway. Simplex mechanical lock, very fast, no batteries, excellent at keeping curious little fingers out of trouble. The downside to any of them that advertise as being under-side mounted is that they really are designed that way; you can't sit them flat on a nightstand and open the door. This can be solved by either elevating the box about half an inch off the surface, or just letting the front overhang the surface far enough for the door to swing down.
I love my V-line. Everything else I found relied on keys, batteries, or wasn't very fast to open. If you want to keep it under $200, I am sure you can pick up one of the cheaper offerings from GunVault or Sentry for a hundred or so. They just looked too flimsy for me to feel comfortable in a house full of toddlers and idiot teenagers.
Math is tough. Let's go shopping!
I use a GunVault 2000. I don't trust biometric but can open this thing in a flash. I have it through bolted to the top of my dresser. If somebody wants it, they can take my drawers w/ it.

I use the gun vault mv500-std. I opted for one that opens up since it lives in the drawer. Had it for years and never replaced that battery....which reminds me I need to replace the battery. But if it does die, it has a keyed backup...
-is this for child-proof or burglar-proof?
