I've posted about the Boulder Rifle Club shoots at least 3 times in the last two days. There are 3 shoots just like this at the BRC. Check it out here:

    http://www.boulderrifleclub.com/activity.html

The calendar isn't update for 2010 yet, but the days are the same.
The indoor combat matches are the first Friday NIGHT of the month.
Defensive pistol matches are 3rd Saturday morning of the month.
They also do an I.S.P.C. match on the fifth weekend (so about 6 matches per year).

The indoor combat matches and Defensive pistol matches aren't affiliated with any national organization, so you won't be doing a classifier match to get on any matches, but the rules and scoring are the same enough to introduce you to the sport. It's a really fun time. I'm trying to make it to as many as I can this year, so let me know if you can make it to the next one and I'll let you know if I'll be able to make it!

Stuart, I'm going to put the Indoor Combat Match on my calendar. Feb 5th 2010 at 7:00. I will call and see what I need to do prior to the event so I can participate. If you can make it that would be great I need someone to show me the ropes

I'm just looking for more range time and training so being ranked is not important to me. I did join Trigger Time in Longmont which starts orientation this week. Pistol section should be open next week.

All you really need is a holster and some magazines. I agree with Fryday that the Beretta sounds like it has all you need. Do you have a mag holster at all? I've just got one.

Those night time matches go from easy one week, moderate the next, then difficult the next (from what I understand). The one I did was all B-zone or better (head shots) and I really sucked it up.

You basically just show up and pay $15. They have a short shooters meeting, split the shooters up into how ever many groups as they have stages, then you go to the shooting room. It is all in one room and they split it in half and run a stage on either side. They explain how each stage is supposed to be run, then have people start shooting. The later you show up, the closer to the beginning of the list of shooters you are. Just ask to be not first so you can see a few people shoot before you to get a feel for how to run the stage.

I think I'm going to get a hold of a cheap Fobus OWB holster for my CZ and try shooting a match with it. That will save me some money since I only have 9mm ammo right now anyway.

All right - I need to pick out a match to go to... I am on the S/W side of the Springs and saw the next PPPS match is Feb 14 - Valentines day - 8AM till 4 or so... That appears to be the closest (distance and time) wise for me.(?)
I guess I better take the wife somewhere nice the 13th instead - or make sure I have time to get home for a shower.

I tried to make a shoot last year on Valentine's Day and planned to go rock climbing at 1:30 the same day. Fortunately I was violently sick that morning and missed both, which was preferable to making the match and getting into trouble for screwing up the rest of the day.

The next match closest to you will be the Whistling Pines match the beginning of Feb. Make sure to contact Hoser before the match and I'm sure he can arrange to do a safety orientation with you.
Mom's comin' 'round to put it back the way it ought to be.

Is Hoser on vacation or something? I haven't seen him around for a few days and I sent him a PM a while ago that he never responded to. Is everything okay with him?
