    Question 10mm powder?

So I am new to reloading and have a few questions. I recently purchased a Glock 20 and I want to reload for it. I bought some RCBS carbine 40sw/10mm dies, winchester large pistol primers and 500 180g copper plated bullets from Xtreme. I will be using brass from the ammo I bought from underwood, HPR and Prograde.

From my understanding since I bought plated bullets they do not like to go above 1200 fps. I want to be right about 1200 fps Seems like Longshot, AA #5 and AA #7, Blue-dot and a few others. I bought a reloading book last night but did not get a chase to crack it open last night. Can anyone guide me in the right direction who loads for 10mm?

If you can find any powder.... Use it . It has been hard to find AA 2,5 or 7.

The Reloading Zone in Wheat Ridge has powder. Can't say it is priced well, but they probably have some.

#5, 7 and Longshot are good choices if you want velocity. Thats comes with recoil and muzzle blast/flash.

Blue Dot has wicked ugly pressure spikes and I wont touch the stuff anymore. Lots of better options.

I am ok with recoil and flash and they will just be plinking loads. I can always back it off I suppose to bring that down. Thank you for the heads up on blue dot; I will stay away.

Fwiw, if they're Xtreme plated bullets you can go up to about 1500...

I'd stay away from max FPS, till you get comfortable with that round, start as always low end

Well I don't think my first batch will be max FPS but it's good to know that they can be that hot if I wanted. Thanks for the tip Uncle Kazoo! I think I can remove you from the "do not do business list because of your opinion" now.
