It sends out a mass email to all of your email contacts, in this case about weight loss. It is irritating, to say the least.
I received an email from a friend, opend it and nothing there but within the next 12 hours I was getting it back from others that opened it and more than a few rude replies for allowing it to happen. My virus software did not catch it.
